
Greetings to all the scientists, teachers, students, graduates and seniors of the School of Food, Light Industry and Design, a constituent school of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, which trains national specialists with higher education in the food, light industry and design sectors.
The School of Food, Light Industry and Design, one of the 11 constituent schools of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, has 4 professional departments, 5 training and research centers, more than 80 teachers and staff, and 2164 students in 22 specialties. It conducts bachelor's, master's and doctoral level training, research and innovation activities.
As a result of the emergence of new industrial sectors in Mongolia since the 1960s and the increasing need for engineering and technical specialists, the history of the school began with the training of Light Industry Mechanical Engineers in the Faculty of Engineering of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. As a result, in 1971, admissions began in the Department of Technical Mechanics of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology for the Food Industry Mechanics and Public Catering Technology majors. During this period of training, 8,573 bachelor's degree graduates and 679 master's and doctoral degree graduates have graduated in the fields of Light and Food Engineering, Biotechnology, Nutrition, Food Engineering, Forestry Technology, Wood Processing Technology, Mechanics, Printing Technology, Textile Technology, Garment Technology, Leather Products Technology, Management (joint), Mechanical Engineering (joint), Eco-Material Processing Technology (joint), Food Chain Cooling System, Design, and our graduates are working in many fields of national industry, research institutions, and business in all corners of Mongolia and abroad, raising the reputation of our native school.
The school is developing into a recognized educational and research institution not only in Mongolia but also internationally, and it has a flexible system for choosing various forms of education, curricula, and majors, and provides students with a wide range of opportunities and advantages, such as organizing high-quality theoretical and practical training, using various forms of scholarships, and continuing their studies at universities in developed countries.
As education is rapidly changing, we are organizing training and research in new methodologies, technologies, opportunities, and new forms, implementing changes and reforms in stages, strengthening our training and research material base with modern leading laboratories and equipment within our own resources and cooperation, improving the learning environment for students and teachers, and making progress in the development of science.
